Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver Bids a Fond Farewell to its Community

Updated: Jan 19, 2020

A Letter from Martin Sinclair

General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver

January 16, 2020

"The simple idea that if you treat people well, the way you would like to be treated, they will do the same."

                     - Isadore Sharp, founder and chairman of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

Dear Guests, Friends and Four Seasons Family,  Since the day it opened almost 44 years ago, Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver has served as a sparkling hub at the heart of downtown. It has become a home away from home for both visitors and residents of this spectacular young city as it's grown into a cosmopolitan metropolis with a caring, kind and playful soul - much like the Four Seasons brand itself. The hotel will close next week as the company's longest operating hotel. It holds a very special place within the Four Seasons family: so many dedicated employees represent our storied years, and we have loved being part of your lives. The employees' commitment to providing exceptional service has been repeatedly recognized with awards like the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star designation, and the AAA Five Diamond rating. From our opening on April 23, 1976, to our closing on Monday, January 20, 2020, we hold our guests, friends, fans and family close to our collective hearts. We are so honoured to have been "your place." From your weddings, anniversaries, proposals, conferences, reunions, galas, business affairs and family vacations - we have been there for you, and you have been there for us. One of our proudest accomplishments in these four-plus decades in Vancouver is as a founding member of the Terry Fox Run, contributing to the $750 million raised for cancer research over the past 37 years. We will miss this community so much and leave the city with nothing but fond, warm, and lasting memories of all the special moments we have shared together.   We would like to invite our awesome Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver community to share their best memories, photos and farewells on our Facebook and Instagrampages until January 31. Sincerely, Martin Sinclair  General Manager and the thousands of employees behind the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver's history...
