Kismet Strikes Gold Again – Winemaker Manpreet Dhaliwal Leads

with Historic Double Gold and Adds Platinum

Canada’s Only Female South Asian Head Winemaker Racks up Awards at 2025 All Canadian Wine Championships and WineAlign National Awards

Oliver, B.C. -  Kismet Estate Winery is proud to announce national recognition at the 2025 All Canadian Wine Championships and the WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada, where Head Winemaker Manpreet Dhaliwal earned top honours, including her second consecutive Double Gold medal for the inaugural release of the 2024 Phulkari Rosé. As Canada’s first and only female South Asian head winemaker, Dhaliwal continues to pave a distinctive path, earning national acclaim for her vision and craft.

In addition to Phulkari Rosé’s Double Gold, Kismet’s achievements include:

“Phulkari is truly special to me,” says Dhaliwal. “It’s a love letter to the women who make things happen quietly and powerfully behind the scenes, never looking for the spotlight but always holding everything together. This wine is for them.”

Inspired by its namesake, which means "floral embroidery" in Punjabi, Phulkari Rosé becomes more than a wine - it becomes a symbol. On August 16, 2025, Kismet Estate Winery will host its Phulkari Celebration, a floral-themed afternoon in honour of this spirit of quiet strength, creativity, and female empowerment. The event will feature pours of Manpreet Dhaliwal’s award-winning wines, led by the Double Gold-winning Phulkari Rosé, alongside light bites from Manzil Indian Restaurant and heartfelt stories behind the labels. Floral prints and phulkari shawls are encouraged, setting the tone for an experience that’s as joyful and colourful as the wine itself. Book here.

Kismet Estate Winery, founded by the Dhaliwal family, farms over 600 acres in the South Okanagan. Only the top 10% of their fruit is used in their portfolio of 100% BC VQA-certified wines. The winery’s focus on quality, heritage, and deep commitment to local viticulture is an authentic expression of the Okanagan terroir that  continues to earn praise nationwide.

Oenophiles are invited to experience Manpreet’s celebrated creations by visiting Kismet’s tasting room in Oliver for a bookable experience. Guests can further explore the wines’ rich stories and nuanced flavours at Manzil, the winery’s on-site award winning restaurant. Manzil, meaning "home" in Hindi, pairs Manpreet’s wines with bold, flavourful dishes inspired by dishes from India’s diverse regions. This is not your typical North American Indian restaurant.

Kismet-loyalists looking to secure priority access to their growing collection of sought-after wines are encouraged to join the Connection or Devotion Wine Club. Members enjoy first access to new releases, rare library wines, exclusive events, and intimate winemaker experiences with Manpreet Dhaliwal herself.
