Here we are friends. It’s holiday time!

Each year we curate a thoughtful list that reflects some meaningful work happening across our client community, along with the places, makers and producers that inspire us. Our 2025 Holiday Gift Guide is rooted in the same values that shape Hatch throughout the year: telling great stories, a passionate commitment to local, a love of food and wine, a belief in memorable travel, and a desire to celebrate the people who are elevating the flavour of British Columbia and Canada on the world stage.

But first, a bit about us. It was a great year for the Hatch team.

Kate spent 2025 levelling up, with work that moved her through the Rockies and up to the hills of Girdwood, Alaska for Pomeroy Resorts, deepening her experience across two remarkable destinations. She also played a key role supporting Kananaskis and Global Affairs Canada through months of lead-up planning for the G7 Global Summit before joining the team on the ground as the world arrived in June. Summer in Naramata added its own rhythm, with time spent discovering local stories, exploring wineries and taking on new wine projects, and jumping in the lake with her kids as much as possible. It was also a year of major professional development, sharpening her strategic toolkit with fresh work in growth marketing, leadership, AI and financial planning.

Ned’s year was equally full. He continued his work with Vancouver Coastal Health and returned to his Ambassador role with BuyBC, while opening a lively month-long Vancouver pop up in April, with his sons pressed into service whenever things got especially busy. Summer brought a series of Naramata pop ups that paired wine, community and local seafood. He travelled widely representing Destination BC in the launch of their new Iconics program, capturing everything from alpine ridgelines to rainforest rivers to coastal kitchens as part of a major creative push for the province. A standout moment was returning to Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Blue Ribbon Task Force as the only Canadian chef invited to the table, deepening his work in sustainable seafood at an international level. He also expanded his latest hybrid partnership with Toyota and began an exciting new role this fall as Creative Advisor for Okanagan College’s Centre for Food, Wine and Tourism.

Krista powered much of Hatch’s work this year with her signature steadiness. She kept key tourism, food and beverage accounts humming, led major campaigns across BC Ale Trail and regional tourism partners, and travelled to support shoots and media work across the province. She started the fall with a one-woman crisis communications roadshow across Vancouver Island that helped communities navigate tough conversations with clarity and confidence. She then launched Evolve Cellars’ new sparkling winery in Penticton and continued elevating Manpreet’s profile as Canada’s first and only South Asian female head winemaker at Kismet Estate, in a year marked by national awards and growing recognition. She rounded out the season supporting culinary and winery storytelling for Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate, Elephant Island and JoieFarm.

We want to offer a warm thanks to our clients, supporters, friends and family. Thank you for reading and for all your support this year.

-Kate, Ned and Krista

When you gift The Little King ($26) you are not just offering a celebratory bottle but also contributing to prenatal education, postpartum support and community networks for new families. AnnaLena

The restaurant unveiled a fresh renovation embracing dark, sophisticated modernity, and a focused, seasonally driven menu that make the dining room taste and feel even more intimate, immersive and unmistakably AnnaLena.  All this just in time to land #10 on Canada’s 100 Best and retain its third consecutive Michelin star. Add a Platinum Wine Award and Vancouver Magazine’s “Best Upscale Restaurant” and “Best Kitsilano”, and it’s safe to say 2025 was one for the books.

The team also launched a limited-edition line of chef-driven merch created in partnership between AnnaLena’s own Mikayla “Million” Smith of @coastalmood and Chef/Owner Mike Robbins. This season you can channel your inner Michelin-star chef at home with the first-generation AnnaLena Prep Shirt (in cobalt, mauve or yellow (youth sizes only) and the “let me cook” five-panel cap. Both are available at annalena.ca and make excellent gifts for the food lover, the aspiring chef or anyone who likes a little swagger in the kitchen or out in the world.  A gift certificate is a pretty highly coveted holiday gift as well. #annalenaxo
