Summer Steps Up to the Plate at Naramata Inn

Naramata, B.C. - As the weather warms and local farms and markets start to fill with early summer produce, Chef Ned Bell and the Naramata Inn kitchen team have launched new seasonal menus for lunch and dinner celebrating these fresh ingredients. At lunch, the Fennel, Radish and Arugula Salad is finished with an elderflower dressing, the Wild Side Stripe Shrimp Open-Faced Sandwich features an herb and nettle aioli, and the Yarrow Meadow Chicken is accompanied by local heirloom beans and oyster mushrooms. At dinner, the Wild Pacific Halibut is paired with fresh peas and butter-braised spinach, while the 63 Acres Beef Tenderloin Tartare features a Naramata cherry emulsion. Each ingredient is sourced as locally as possible, working with our community’s farmers and producers, and brought together to offer a true example of “Naramatian cuisine.”

Canada's 100 Best: Back to the Land with Ned Bell

Where would we be without Canada’s innovative, vital and resilient hospitality industry? One that has kept our panicked, pandemic, upside-down existence so much better thanks to delicious food, drink, treats and programs?

We are HONOURED and PROUD to be included in Canada’s 100 Best “unqualified celebration” of things to savour right now. Thank you. And thank you once again to the community and guests who have embraced our ambitious aspirations of bringing the absolute best and most delicious parts of Naramata and the Okanagan Valley to the world. Every customer and kind word is an encouragement and we are so excited about the season ahead.

A Special “Pecking Hour” Tasting Starring Ursa Major, Wednesday June 16

Join us for a very special al fresco* “Pecking Hour” on June 16 starring special guest Rajen Toor of Ursa Major Winery from Black Sage Bench in the Southern Okanagan. Our wine director, Emily Walker, has been squirrelling away a few bottles of Rajen's sold-out-in-seconds releases to share with you. Limited to just 20 seats, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, you’ll sit, sip and snack on local cheese and house-made charcuterie, while Rajen himself will meet with our guests to casually convey the inspiration behind these beautiful bottles. The tasting is $49 per person (plus tax), including a flight of four wines and personal cheese and charcuterie board.

*weather permitting

The afternoon event is offered to advanced reservations only, on a first-come, first served basis. To secure your seat at the table please email olivia@naramatainn.com with "Ursa Major" in the subject line.

Emily and Rajen will also be pouring a limited amount of Ursa Major’s sold out wines for a la carte dinner guests of the Inn that same evening. It’s a great time to try something new. Click here to book a June 16 dinner reservation.

Chardonnay Takes Flight

While the food at the Restaurant at Naramata Inn gets a lot of attention, the wine program has won plenty of praise as well! And for good reason. Created by Emily Walker, the Inn’s Wine Director, a highlight of the program is the rotating tasting flight on offer, presenting three wines that tell the story of a particular grape, style or terroir.

The new All the Way with Chardonnay flight — available through June — brings together three expressions of this grape from three very different growing regions: from the Okanagan Valley, the Lightning Rock ‘Canyonview’ chardonnay; from Australia’s Yarra Valley, the Mac Forbes chardonnay; and from France, the Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis Village.

Presenting them side-by-side gives guests the opportunity to contrast the wines, and learn more about the influence that both the environment and the winemaking process can have on wines made from the same grape.

About Naramata Inn:

Constructed 113 years ago by the town’s founder, J.M. Robinson, Naramata Inn would welcome some of the Okanagan’s very first tourists and go on to weave a colourful thread throughout Naramata’s history. Naramata Inn is still making headlines as the best way to enjoy the full bounty of the Okanagan Valley. The Inn delivers a proudly “Naramatian” experience, from the best local growers and artisans in Naramata and the Valley, through to showcasing the true depth and breadth of award-winning wines produced by British Columbia’s winemakers.
